WOLF NEWS 3/10/2008

More tragic news has
hit Wolves over the
past couple days.

1) ALASKAN BOARD OF GAME APPROVES SLAUGHTER OF 24 WOLVES

The Alaskan Board of Game
has decided that Wolves in
the Alaskan Peninsula will
be slaughtered.

This is because they say
that numbers of caribou
are extremely low.

They want to slaughter 24
Wolves. This is because
they claim it will give
calves the ability to grow and replenish
the population.

Wolves don't decimate herds
of their food supply.
They know that doing so
would imperil their own
survival. And if this were
actually true it would
have been recorded long ago
in many Wolf books.

Some of these Wolves are
on the Izembek National
Wildlife Refuge where they
will be safe, but the Wolves
outside of this area will be
slaughtered.

They will be murdered by
helicopter and the Board of
Game's 'wildlife biologist'
Cathie Harms, says this hasn't
been done since the mid-1980's.

And she even justifies it
by saying that their control [murder]
programs don't cause Wolves to
become threatened or endangered status.

It doesn't make it right that
they are doing it again.
Of course their aerial 'control'
programs are already horrible
and have claimed the lives
of many Wolves. This is eco-fascism
at it's worst.

THIS HAS TO STOP NOW.

Why? They already have been pondering
the slaughtering of Wolf Pups.

And they have already slaughtered more
than 6 Wolves in this past year.

Governor Sarah Palin
is all for culling and slaughter
and is passing a bill to stop
the opposition to these atrocities.

For more about that, go here.

2) WYOMING DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME'S HIDEOUS PLAN FOR WOLVES

Gov. Dave Freudenthal, who is not a friend to Wolves,
has signed a bill to have $2.5 million spent
on Wolf 'Management' over the next two years.

The money is going to specifically fund the
salaries for a Wolf 'Management' coordinator
and three biologists. These people will be monitoring [micromanaging] Wolves,
'researching' them and slaughtering Wolves in 'control'
programs. It was a rider in a budget package that
passed both chambers a couple weeks ago.

Of course none of this was for Non-Lethal Methods, PF Ranching Practices and research.
Just the same oppressive rule that the USFWS
practiced.

And it came from the mouth of corruption.

"We'll be doing the same thing that the Fish and Wildlife Service
has done over the last 10 years, but we'll be doing it in
a much more comprehensive manner," -- The Department of Fish and Game director Terry Cleveland said.

The Wyoming Department of Fish and Game will micromanage of Wolves so they
can't be themselves, slaughter them in livestock issues,
with the horrific added bonus of people soon being
able to hunt Wolves. This activity will take place
in the northwestern part of the state where they
will be classified as the status of Trophy Game.

The Department of Fish and Game director Terry
Cleveland says the department will be
spending $1.5 million the first year for getting
equipment like: trucks, Horses, radios, computers,
cell phones, radio tracking equipment as well as
Global Positioning System equipment.

Cleveland says officials will spend about
$1 million every year after. This is $500,000
more than what the USFWS uses/ed in their horrific
programs.

He also said that extensive monitoring [hyper-micromanaging]
of Wolves will be commenced in order to make sure
the state maintains 7 Wolf breeding pairs outside
of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.

They deem a breeding pair to be one male/female Wolf
and two Wolf pups that are not a year old that survive
until Dec. 31.

In terms of livestock issues, they will respond to depredations
in a 48 hr period within Trophy Game areas. They
try to justify this as a reason for the ridiculous
budget for the Wyoming DFG.

Although some of the money will be used for compensation
for livestock losses, they failed like the USFWS to realize
that these issues can be resolved without the use of
murder. By using Non-Lethal Methods and PF Ranching,
such as cattle rotation, livestock protecting dogs,
fladry and hi-tech fences, these issues can be prevented.

Thus compensation is a waste.

Their costs have also been revealed to be aircraft
to monitor Wolves [micromanage Wolves], by using
radio collaring [slave collars]. And it also includes
using APHIS Wildlife Services (U.S. Department of Agriculture's
Animal Plant Health Inspection Service) to help with slaughtering
Wolves, which already has been done in states like
Montana for quite awhile.

THIS IS A HORRIFIC PLAN AND IT MUST BE OPPOSED.

Until Wolves are respected as fellow man and NLM and PF Ranching
are used, this changing of the guard will yield no positive
changes for Wolves AT ALL.

3) IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME EXPECTS CONTROL OF WOLVES IN A MONTH

Idaho's Department of Fish and Game will be
in control unfortunately of Wolves in Idaho
by the end of the month. Unless if the delisting
ruling is overturned.

The Idaho Fish and Game and Commission recently
approved the Idaho Wolf population mgmt plan for
the next 5 years.

The USFWS will also be overseeing the managing [domination]
practices that the IDFG will do.

Steve Nadeau, Large Carnivore Mgr from the
IDFG, says their plan is a step down from
their 2002 legislative plan that was approved
by the USFWS before they could have state
control over Wolves.

In the next few months Nadeau said that the
Fish and Game will setup quotas for hunting seasons
as well as picking locations and determining
Wolf hunting seasons.

And he says that hunters will help control
Wolf numbers.

4) MINNESOTA WOLF TRAGICALLY SHOT TO DEATH

A Coyote hunter shot to death a Wolf last month,
near the Whitewater Wildlife Management Area in Olmstead
County.

The hunter thought it was a Wolf, which is no excuse
since hunting is unethical.

The hunter who reported the incident was let off
without charges by a Minnesota Department of Natural
Resources Officer.

The punishment said DNR Enforcement Director Col. Mike Hamm, would have been conviction, stiff fine,
jail time, and $2,000 restitution.

Hamm said that Wolves can't be shot unless in defense
of Human life (which Wolves haven't killed anyone in
North America for 100+ years which should nix this excuse) and to protect livestock or pets
(which can be prevented through NLM and PF Ranching and Animal
Husbandry Practices).

DNR Wolf Mgmt Specialist Dan Stark believes that
this is a reminder that Wolves inhabit many parts
of the State.

He said that Minnesota's Wolf Mgmt Plan which was
approved by the Minnesota DNR in 2001 and started
in March 2007, following delisting of Wolves from
the Endangered Species List, would ensure the long-term
survival of Wolves while resolving conflicts between
Humans and Wolves.

Dan Stark also said this.

"The wolf's presence enhances Minnesota's rich natural heritage.
"But people need to be aware that encounters may occur even
in areas where wolf presence is rare."

How is that possible when incidents like this happen?
How is that possible when Non-Lethal Methods and PF Ranching Practices won't be used to
peacefully prevent livestock issues?
How is that possible when Animal Husbandry Practices won't be
used to prevent pet issues regarding Wolves to prevent loss of life on either side?
How is that possible when Wolves are micromanaged and can't live as themselves?

It won't.

WHAT YOU CAN DO?

CONTACT THE MINNESOTA DNR IN OPPOSITION TO THIS HUNTER GETTING OFF THE HOOK
IN ADDITION TO THEIR HYPOCRITICAL PLANS FOR WOLVES IN MINNESOTA. SUE
IF POSSIBLE.

HOW THEY CAN PEACEFULLY PREVENT LIVESTOCK ISSUES.

B) Address your letters to Dan Stark

This is also another reason why the USFWS' ruling of delisting of Wolves
in the Great Lakes must be opposed and overturned.

Also contact the Minnesota Government Officials in opposition to all
of this.

5) WOLF BAITING INVESTIGATION UNDER WAY

Last year it was reported to High Country News, that a ranch hand in New Mexico
by the name of Mike Miller, baited a Wolf with Cattle to
cause a Wolf to be slaughtered under the feds "three strikes rule".
This is a hideous rule which authorizes the shooting [murder] of a Wolf
that kills three Cows in a year. These incidents anyway can be
prevented without loss of life through the use of Non-Lethal Methods and
PF Ranching.

Miller works for the Adobe-Slash Ranch which is owned by Mexican
Businessman Eloy Vallina. Miller couldn't be reached for comment and
his supervisor Gene Whetten didn't want to answer questions asked
by High Country News.

Defenders of Wildlife suspended compensating the Adobe-Slash Ranch for
cattle killed by Wolves.

This incident caused the deaths of 9 Wolves. And Defenders shouldn't be
merely compensating for livestock issues, they need to be supporting
full-time Non-Lethal Ranching Practices and PF Ranching.

As they found out through Craig Miller, the South Western Rep, compensation
can be and is a failure.

In a related note, the USFWS last year slaughtered 22 Wolves last year,
in livestock issues and for straying away from their 7,000 sq. mile 'recovery area',
which is along the Arizona-New Mexico Border.

Elizabeth Slown of the Mexican Gray Wolf 'Recovery' Program of the USFWS
says that the USFWS is reviewing it's Wolf reintroduction rules and
is making a new environmental impact statement that may provide more
protection for Wolves. This is of little comfort.

Especially because of this.

Several groups contacted in January, Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne,
to investigate the illegal destruction of Wolves in livestock issues.
Wolves shouldn't be slaughtered in livestock issues because it is ALREADY
ILLEGAL! These same groups say that the USFWS' catering to the livestock
industry is causing an increase of Wolf deaths.

And 35 Wolves have also been murdered. Also illegally, through
shootings, and being struck by vehicles primarily (largely unreported by
those who hit them).

Wolves shouldn't be slaughtered in livestock issues and until Non-Lethal
Methods and PF Ranching are used to prevent livestock issues without
loss of life, these incidents will continue. Compensation is not effective
either. And the feds need to do their part and shut down those responsible
for baiting Wolves as well.

NEW WOLF UPDATES 3/6/2008

Here are the newest updates
for Wolves and they aren't
lovely.

1) UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA WANTS WOLVES SLAUGHTERED

The University of Alberta, along with
Canada's Government, wants
to do a hideous experiment
at Rocky Mountain House near
Calgary. This where Wolves
are to have their packs
kept small and let sterilized
Alpha pairs to 'defend' their
territory.

This project wants to do
this unethical project by
sterilizing the Alpha pair
and then slaughtering the
rest of the Wolves in the packs.

It's for hunters so they
can slaughter more Wolves.

And of course the Alberta
Fish and Game supports this
experiment since they support
the hunting industry.

THIS NEEDS TO BE STOPPED!

Wolves at the Upper Pitt River in Canada
may be threatened by 8 compact hydro-electric
dams that are being constructed on
the river's Salmon-breeding streams.

Source
(Comment on this article to support Wolves!)

Not only that but Eagles, Elk, Bears and
Wolverines will be threatened by
this.

Construction has already begun to where
95% of roads for the project have already
been built. The company who is doing
this project, is falsely claiming that
the project will not damage the refuge areas
where the project is being done as well
as the species there.

Contact the Canadian Government
to ask them to call for an end to these
projects.

Here is the info for doing that.

3) WOLF MURDERED LAST YEAR IN MASSACHUSETTS FIRST TO ARRIVE IN 160

A Wolf slaughtered by a cohort of a rancher occurred last fall in
Massachusetts.

This was in connection with livestock issues that were occurring.
The situation was reported to Thomas J. Healy of the USFWS there.
But since nothing was really done constructively by Healy, the Rancher's cohort decided
to take matters into their own hands and murdered
the Wolf a day after that.

If Non-Lethal Methods and PF Ranching were used, this wouldn't
have happened.

The USFWS did experiments in Oregon on the poor Wolf's corpse
and recently announced it was a Wolf.

Will a Wolf return to Massachusetts? Possibly. And some think
they might return to other states like Connecticut and Maine.
Which the same events will play out in the U.S. over the past
decade (including the possible recent delisting of Wolves
in the Northern Rockies) unless Wolves are respected
as fellow man and Non-Lethal Methods and PF Ranching are used
to prevent livestock issues without loss of life to both
sides.

Source
Source

The USFWS needs to be promoting, educating and enforcing the use
of Non-Lethal Methods and PF Ranching to prevent these tragedies
from occurring.

Here is one haunting story of Connecticut's last Wolf from one
newspaper who recently reported about the Massachusetts Wolf issue:

Israel Putnam and Connecticut's last wolf

"Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes" is the line
commonly credited to Israel Putnam at the Battle of Bunker Hill.

But legend also has it that the Revolutionary War general killed
Connecticut's last wolf in 1742 -- also by the light of its shining eyes.

The legend is that in 1742, when Putnam lived in eastern Connecticut,
a she-wolf was killing sheep, including those owned by Putnam.
The farmers tracked the wolf to its den -- now part of Mashamoquet
Brook State Park in the town of Pomfret. Unable to smoke it out,
Putnam took affairs into his own hands.

Holding a torch in one hand and his musket in the other, Putnam
shed his coat and crawled into the den -- a long, narrow, icy cave.
He tied a rope around his legs and told his fellow farmers to drag
him out when he signaled them with a kick.

Putnam supposedly crawled in close enough to see the wolf's eyes.
Hearing the wolf's growls and cries, his friends pulled him out
before he could get a shot off. So Putnam entered the cave a
second time, and getting even closer to the wolf, fired his
gun as the animal was about to spring. Again, his friends pulled him to safety.

Letting the smoke of his shot clear, Putnam entered the cave a
third time. Finding the wolf dead, he kicked and was
pulled out a third time, dragging the state's last wolf by its ears.

After carrying it back to town, the men hung the wolf from
an iron spike and held a celebration below its body.
People reportedly came from miles around for several
days to see the carcass.

NEW WOLF UPDATES! HELP WOLVES NOW!

Lots of Wolf updates going on. Some to do
with a Wolf game, a man from the medical
industry who wants Wolves dead, and State
Government Agencies who waste no time in wanting
Wolves hunted and slaughtered in livestock issues are all below.

1) OKAMI FOR THE WII DELAYED UNTIL APRIL

It was recently confirmed that the classic and
underrated game of Okami, which is soon to be
released on the Nintendo Wii, is being delayed
until April 15th.

For those who don't know what Okami is, it is
a game that takes place in early Japan, where
the goddess from the Japanese religion of Shinto,
Amaterasu (Goddess of the Sun), must return
to cleanse the world of evil in the form of
a special Wolf.

Using the power of godhood through your
Celestial Brush, you can alter the world
and fight evil.

So definitely reserve or plan to buy it when
it is released.

So mark this down on your
calendars alongside taxes due.

2) MAN FROM THE MEDICAL INDUSTRY WANTS TO
SEE WOLVES DEAD

A few days ago we recieved a bizzare letter.

A man who works at the Saint Alphonsus
Non-Profit Medical Center decided to email
us saying that protecting Wolves is crazy
and that he can't wait to start slaughtering
them.

Bizzare how this man is associated with a
medical group that is supposed to be treating
others and instead wants to engage in murder
and mayhem.

Here is the message below:

3) WYOMING DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME WASTES NO TIME PREPARING FOR CONTROLLING WOLVES

Recently the Wolves in the Northern Rockies were unfortunately delisted
by the defunct USFWS.

Already some agencies are kicking their plans to destroy Wolves.

The Montana FWP has already planned a Wolf Hunting Season if Wolves
are still not delisted soon.

And now the Wyoming Department of Fish and Game planning their
own version of Judgment Day for the Wolves.

The Wyoming Department of Fish and Game came out
not long after Wolves were delisted with their
briefing on their plans for Wolves and answering
questions of special interest groups that are
negative for the Wolves, rather than actual productive
questions and answers.

Already they are in support of the destruction of
Wolves in livestock issues. No mention of Non-Lethal
Methods and PF Ranching to deter Wolves from livestock
peacefully. Although they support compensation
for livestock loss, losses don't have to happen period.
And Wolves don't have to get slaughtered.
And the WYDFG is planning on using aerial gunning
techniques to slaughter them.

They anticipate having control over Wolves by
March 28, 2008 or later. That doesn't give us
much time to stop the Wolves terrible fate from
happening. The oppressive rule of the USFWS
over Wolves was bad enough, this is going to be worse.

In the same briefing they talk about boundaries for
hunting Wolves as well. They also talk about
proposals will be soon set for number of licenses
and licensing proposals will be available for public
review in the spring of 2008. Most of the public
is for Wolves and against hunting so this is procedure
before special interests in the hunting industry and
in the Wyoming Department of Fish and Game will
approve it.

Wolves are going to be hunted under a quota system.
Once the quota of Wolves slaughtered has been met
the hunting season on Wolves will end. The quota
will 'assure' that the Wolf population is
maintained above the USFWS 'recovery' criteria.

It doesn't matter if Wolf population is a mere 15%
percent of their former range. They aren't recovered
and hunting is wrong thus, ethically and scientifically.

Wolves for those in Wyoming will then be classified
as both Predator Status in most of the state.
Wolves can be slaughtered by anyone at anytime in
accordance with Wyoming law and there will be no
closed seasons or bag limits for Wolves. Though
in the Trophy Game animal status and region of
the state which will be the Northwestern half,
hunters will have to have a hunting license
and can only hunting them during hunting seasons.

Ranchers in the Predatory Region will be
able to slaughter Wolves for ANY reason and
don't have to contact the WYDFG prior to doing
so but must report the whole incident and everything
about the Wolf in 10 days.

Ranchers in the Trophy Status have to contact
the WYDFG to slaughter the Wolves in a 72 hour period.

For more information about this issue go here.
And here.

To comment on these horrific regulations and to sue the Wyoming Game and
Fish to help stop this go here.

TWO WOLF MEDIA REVIEWS

Here are two reviews of Wolf Media.

One is of the book Wolf! Wolf! and the other is
the classic film Ringing Bell. Enjoy the reviews.

NEW REVIEWS OF WOLF MEDIA

1) WOLF! WOLF! REVIEW

Wolf! Wolf! is a children's novel by the author John
Rocco.

It is a retelling of the old story The Boy Who Cried
Wolf from Aesop's fables.

It was released February of 2007.

SYNOPSIS

An elder Wolf who is too old to hunt
animals like Birds and Rabbits, decides
to make a garden, which wasn't exactly
successful.

Hearing the cries of Wolf! Wolf!,
he decides to check it out.
He has no friends at all. But he
thinks who is calling his
name may be up to sharing food.

Following the voice he finds
a boy with a Goat. He thinks
the boy might actually share
the Goat.

Hearing villagers not far behind
he stays hidden among the bamboo and watches them
all.

The villagers are annoyed the
boy was faking the boy saw a Wolf
and wanted to have him only
call for help if he really sees a Wolf.

The Wolf wasn't really happy
with villagers brandishing
weapons and boys who play
terrible pranks. So he decides
to leave.

But he soon returns upon hearing
the boy cry Wolf again, just
in case if competition may be
arriving for food.

The villagers arrive and leave
after the boy says there is
no Wolf.

The Wolf wonders if he could
steal a Goat somehow from the
boy.

Sleeping the Wolf thinks about
Mu Shu Goat and Double-Goat
Dumplings.

Woken up by the boy's crying
Wolf again, he heads
back to the meadow, annoyed.

Since no villagers were there,
he comes out to confront the
boy. And he asks about being
invited for lunch.

The boy scared seeing a real
Wolf tries to escape by climbing
a tree and starts yelling
again for the villagers.

Knowing the villagers would
not come this time, the Wolf
told him to be quiet. He tells
the boy that the villagers wouldn't be
back.

The boy actually thought the Wolf
was going to take the goats but
the Wolf knew better since he
was old and would have a hard
time catching them.

The Wolf tries to make a deal
with the boy by telling him
to leave him a Goat that is plump.
That way the Wolf tells him
that the villagers would believe
him that a Wolf was there.

As an added incentive
the Wolf makes a false threat that
he would take all the Goats
if he didn't do what he said.

He instructs the boy to tie
the Goat on a post.

The Wolf returns back to
his home and finds the goat
there. And then he sees
many plump vegetables.

The Wolf then decides to free
the Goat and be friends with
him since he wants a friend
and is satisfied with his new
garden.

END SYNOPSIS

Wolf! Wolf! is a great new
interpretation of the terrible
tale The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

The tale was originally about
a sheepherder boy who would
cry Wolf! Wolf! to amuse himself.

And his fellow
villagers would come by and
see there was no Wolf.

When the villagers didn't
believe him and they
cease to arrive, a Wolf coincidentally
does show up.

In some tales the Wolf eats
the boy, and in some, the Wolf
eats the flock of Sheep.

The tale, although portrays
the boy as being irresponsible,
the Wolf for many centuries would
be regarded as a villain for eating
the boy and or the flock of Sheep in the story.

Of course many fairy tales like
this and Little Red Riding Hood
would demonize Wolves. These
fairy tales are still believed by
those who fear and hate the Wolf,
and want them dead in real life.

That is why great reinterpretations
of terrible fairy tales can be
very constructive. For example,
the Big Bad Wolf who is called
Bigby in the series Fables,
is a sheriff of the town
Fabletown. He later becomes in
charge of coordinating military
operations to fight the forces
of the evil Adversary.

The show Family Guy follows this
trend by this season having
two episodes where Wolf
fairy tales are turned on their
heads. One clip humorously deals with
The Three Little Pigs where
a Pig ancestor of Peter Griffin,
one of the main characters,
tells the Wolf to not blow over
the houses because of his flatulence.

Another clip this season had
to do with the Griffin's creepy
neighbor Herbert reads the
fairy tale Peter and the Wolf
to Chris Griffin (Peter's
son who is in high school).
Chris is creeped out by the man
especially for reading such a
terrible tale.

This unlike last month's issue
of the terrible comic series
Grimm Fairy Tales (issue 20),
where a boy is 'inspired' by
the tale The Boy Who Cried Wolf.
However the version of the tale
The Boy Who Cried Wolf, that
the boy is inspired by an even more twisted (if you
can get that more twisted) version
of that tale.

The boy claims a man is terrorizing
him and cons the people to kill
the innocent man. And then he blames
another man and eventually the boy
fakes being stunned and shocked beyond
words of the whole incident.

The boy then escapes town and plans to
go with his aunt to another town to
cause even more mayhem.

The more twisted version of The Boy
Who Cried Wolf deals with a man called The
Wild Man, who steals livestock in
front of the boy. And he reports this
to the whole village. He convinces
the village the Wild Man is a threat.
And the Wolf in this version is a Werewolf who
is happy the Wild Man is murdered.
This is since the Wolf views
the Wild Man as competition
for her lunch. The glow in the
Wolf's eyes was like the boy in
the comic at times.

Wolf! Wolf! also follows the great
track record of children's books
on Wolves like Wolves by Emily
Gravett.

The Wolf at the end of the story has a fictional
but great element where the
Wolf, much like in Wolf! Wolf!,
chooses to eat with a Rabbit as
a friend. And the Wolf eats vegetables
as well. Wolves has lots of facts
on Wolves as well.

The art is also very colorful, beautiful,
and captures the story and the the
culture infusion it was designed for.

The book Wolf! Wolf! is also fascinating
because it tries to add some
Human culture to it as well.

The style of Mu Shu food is
Chinese and consists of among many things: beef and pork. And dumplings are an
ethnic food in China as well
as Korea and Japan.

The boy and the villagers
are Asian.

The Wolf as you can see is wearing
an Asian outfit, which in real-life
is called a tangzhuang.
It's traditional Chinese clothing that was at the end of the
Qing Dynasty. The Qing Dynasty lasted from 1644 to 1911.

And the Wolf is carrying an Asian
umbrella which in Chinese is called San
and in Japan is called Wagasa

As a result, this book mixes a great
reinterpretation of a terrible fairy
tale with culture and makes the usual
maligned Wolf a great figure. I
recommend this for all ages to read
and especially for children.

Rating: 5/5

2) RINGING BELL REVIEW

Ringing Bell was recommended
to us by Dre.

Thanks to Dre, we saw
this great motion picture.

Ringing Bell is a film that
came out in 1978 in Japan.
The original title is,
Chirin no Suzu.

It was made by the company
Sanrio, which made the films
Unico and The Sea Prince
and the Fire. They also are
the creators of the Hello Kitty
Franchise.

SYNOPSIS:

The film begins with the main
character, a baby Lamb by the
name of Chirin who lives
on a farm with other Lambs.

He spends time with his mother
and is curious about other
animals in the world.

One night a Wolf appears
at the farm and is intent
on getting an easy meal.

Chirin's mother sacrifices
herself so Chirin may live.
Chirin devastated follows
the trail of the Wolf and finds
him.

Chirin angrily chastises the
Wolf for what he did and follows
the Wolf.

The Wolf after awhile decides
to teach Chirin the life that
he lives, and the challenges
of it.

He shows him how he hunts Elk
and fights of rival predators
like Bears.

The Wolf even teaches Chirin
how to fight and to use his
abilities, like his horns.

Chirin's final test is to
attack the livestock at his
former home.

Chirin seeing a little Lamb
being protected by it's mother
like what happened to him.

Seeing this, Chirin snaps
and decides to attack his
friend and mentor, the Wolf.

Chirin murders the Wolf by
impaling him.

The Wolf wasn't too surprised
that this might happened.

The other Lamb see this with
horror. Although they weren't
happy about being predated
occasionally by a Wolf, they
knew that Chirin killed out
of misguided personal vengeance
and revenge. The Wolf killed
because living in Nature is
hard and sometimes meals are
hard to get as a result.

Shocked that Chirin became
a murderer, they are scared of
him.

He travels to the
mountains where he encountered
the Wolf. Looking into the
body of water, he sees his reflection
and then one of the Wolf
materializes. Thinking the Wolf
is back he looks up and is
devastated that the Wolf isn't
there.

Crying out into the night,
he knows he has lost everything.

END SYNOPSIS

This story is based on a story
book made by Yanase Takashi. The
storybook has beautiful artwork,
which has alot of watercolors used.

As far as the film, the animation
is still beautiful even today.

The animation style isn't used
this modern day, but is very
fascinating.

When the characters talk not
all of their mouths move.
Like Chirin's mother, and the
Wolf. The Wolf's eyes look
alot like Guyver III's eyes
from The Guyver.

The music is also beautiful.
It's orchestral and gets really
vibrant when many of the dramatic
moments of the film occur. Chirin's
mother's death, Chririn getting horns
and the tragic death of the Wolf.

This film was great then and now.
Believe it or not is heavily
based on fact.

A) Wolves prey on livestock
periodically, not because they
are monsters or evil, but
sometimes it's because a meal
can easily be obtained that way
rather than in Nature. However
as we all know in this era, livestock
issues can be prevented without
violence thanks to Non-Lethal
Methods and PF Ranching.

B) Wolves hunt Elk which is
true as well. And it is very
hard, which is why they hunt
in packs. Hunts aren't always
successful, and getting critically
injured is always a possibility.

C) Wolves do have Bears as rivals.
As the film shows, Bears aren't evil
like Wolves, but they do occasionally
battle over food and other issues.

D) Thus the life of a Wolf in Nature
is not easy and the Wolf being rather
skeptical and cynical at first around
Chirin would make sense, if a Wolf
had Human attributes.

Thus it is very accurate.

This film we are sure inspired the
later book series and film, Stormy
Night.

Much like Ringing Bell, the
story truly begins in a barn
where the Goat named Mei meets
the Wolf Gabu for the first time.

Mei's mother too was killed by
Wolves.

Mei and Gabu would become friends
and learn how their races live.

And Stormy Night showed Wolves
predating on Goats as one part
of how they live.

The Wolves live a more rougher
life than the Goats as the film
shows. Despite what both sides
are like, Goats and the Wolves
really both aren't portrayed
as villains as such.

This series had differences but
they enriched it as well.

1) Mei didn't want to seek in
the end revenge against Wolves
for the death of his mother.

He just wanted to live his life
like a Goat until his friendship with Gabu
the Wolf happened and that
became his life.

2) Goats not Lambs, were one side
of the coin in Stormy Night. So
in both series you had livestock
being one side in the story.

3) Mei and Gabu's friendship
would endure despite challenges.
Though the friendship in Ringing
would disintegrate because of
Chirin's selfish desire for revenge,
Mei would stick with Gabu, despite
knowing that Gabu has to eat
other animals for food. This allowed
them both to have a strong and
continued friendship over the
course of many adventures.

4) There were more Wolves in
Stormy Night than in Ringing Bell,
and it showed continued
dynamics of their society.

As you can see the film Ringing
Bell is still classic and still
has a big influence on films and
literature today, such as Stormy Night.
And there are more films and shows
from Japan that have had Wolves
prominently. Like Mononoke Hime (Eng. Princess Mononoke)
and Wolf's Rain.

The film was re-printed in recent years in Japan on DVD.

It is in Japanese and is region-encoded,
so you have to have a Japanese DVD
Player or Region Free DVD Player to watch
it.

Here is a few websites you can
purchase it. As well as the book.

Ringing Bell as YesAsia.com
Ringing Bell Book at YesAsia.com
Ringing Bell at cd japan

And here is another take on it.

Definitely don't miss out on this
classic.

WOLVES IN ULTIMATE DANGER

Judgment Day has happened to Wolves

1) WOLVES HAVE BEEN DELISTED IN NORTHERN ROCKIES. JUDGMENT DAY FOR WOLVES HAS BEGUN

As you might know, the Wolves
of the Northern Rockies have
been delisted.

This is disastrous for
Wolves in Idaho, Montana,
and Wyoming.

Wolves will soon be hunted
in hunts this year.

The Montana FWP has already
approved a hunting season
for Wolves.

Source

The Wolf Hunting Season opening date will coincide with
the big-game hunting season, but will be extended through Dec. 31.

The big-game season will end Nov. 30.

The season will begin in districts with backcountry
areas Sept. 15, the same date as the opening of the big-game rifle season.

Hunters will be able to slaughter wolves with firearms and bows.

And more Wolves will be slaughtered
in livestock issues.

After a decade of failure,
the oppressors of Wolves, the
USFWS have decided Wolves to
be 'recovered'.

The USFWS must be sued for
an upholding of the Endangered
Status. That is how the hunts will be stopped.

And Wolves must no longer be
micromanaged and slaughtered
in preventable livestock issues.

Non-Lethal Methods and PF Ranching

There is also a 30 waiting day period before
Idaho, Montana and Wyoming get control over
Wolves. We must stop it ASAP.

We need your help ASAP.

2) WISCONSIN WOLVES MAY SOON BE HUNTED

Wolves, who are hunted in Alaska, Canada,
and soon possibly in the Northern
Rockies, may soon be hunted in Wisconsin.

The Conservation Congress, a citizens' advisory group to Natural Resources board members,
wants a permanent solution, to the current Wolf population which they want to see culled.
They want to pose a question
to its members on April 14 whether a hunting season should be set, and
will pass its recommendations along to the DNR or lawmakers.

This would be disastrous. Wolves are already slaughtered by
the Wisconsin DNR under Adrian Wydeven in livestock issues
that could be prevented through Non-Lethal Methods and PF Ranching.
Methods which they subvert, bury, and lie about it's efficiency.

This isn't new, but it has been raised again recently.

hunt, should it go through.

2) WOLVES UNDER ATTACK BY HUNTERS IN MICHIGAN

An article from a less than wonderful newspaper
tried to make a sob story out of a hunter and
his Dog.

Tim Dusterwinkle who was going to go hunting
with his 5 Dogs.

One of them named Cowboy was killed by a Wolf.

And a woman recklessly let her Dog play
in her front yard without being near it
in Wolf Territory. And so the Dog was
killed by a Wolf. No different than the
negligence of animal husbandry regarding
Dogs in Alaska as of late.

Incidents like these which have been happening
but shouldn't have been happening because
men like Dusterwinkle hunt and people who don't
keep an eye on their dogs by standing
out with them has created new
terrible legislation that has bi-partisan
support.

New Legislation by Senator Michael Prusi,
D-Ishpeming and Senator Rob Jelinek, R-Three
Oaks says that anyone seeing a Wolf 'attack',
like with that woman who was neglecting watching
her Dogs, can trap, murder and remove to
'killer' Gray Wolf to save the life of the
Dog and Livestock.

Prusi said this.

"Had she grabbed her shot gun and shot the wolf she would have been in violation of the law,"
Prusi said of the Skandia woman,
"We need to give her and other citizens the opportunity to protect their pets from gray wolf attacks."

Livestock can be protected through Non-Lethal
Methods and PF Ranching.

We need to stop this threat immediately.

These Senate bills are awaiting action in the Natural Resources and Environmental
Affairs Committee while the House bills are in the Agriculture Committee.

And even worse is Wolves may be delisted officially in Michigan
soon.

Contact Prusi and his cohorts who support this in opposition
and sue if you can.

Sen. Bruce Patterson, R-Canton Township
Sen. Jason Allen, R-Traverse City
Rep. Michael Lahti, D-Hancock
Rep. Kevin Green, R-Wyoming
Rep. Tim Melton, D-Auburn Hills.

Contact the Governor of Michigan as well.

3) OBVIOUS DECLINE OF WOLVES IN NEW MEXICO NEEDS AN OBVIOUS SOLUTION

The USFWS and the New Mexico Department of Fish and Game, revealed to no surprise that there
is a decline of Wolves in New Mexico.

There has been a decline there for along time. And it's because
of livestock issues that could have been easily prevented through
Non-Lethal Methods and PF Ranching.

This is their 'solutions':

'Innovative wolf management will provide more options for dealing with
conflicts and will emphasize a collaborative process for residents and public officials.

The department is working with residents to identify new ways to discourage
nuisance wolf behavior and ways to allow wolves to roam where active
livestock operations occur, the release said.

Game and Fish has hired a wolf program biologist who will be
responsible for identifying more innovative and effective
ways to communicate and integrate wolf program
needs among people living in wolf country.

A continued emphasis on revising the federal rule for wolf reintroduction is
necessary to improve wolf restoration capabilities.'

Wolves shouldn't be micromanaged and monitored. And if they hope for
Wolves to live with people, they need to use these
methods for success.

Contact the USFWS and New Mexican Dept. of Fish and Game
and other parties below.

4) BOW HUNTERS PROPOSE BOW HUNTING OF WOLVES IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

Hunters who slaughter many animals fear Wolves
coming into Prince Rupert City in British Columbia.

Bowhunters want the ability to bowhunt Wolves.

Those who especially support this are:

Jeff Beckwith (Bowhunter) who left negligently
his dogs out on a leash that were killed by
Wolves because of his negligence.

And Gord Eason, President of United Bowhunters of
British Columbia.

He said this:

"Bowhunting is a safe way to control deer numbers in a semi-urban environment as
most bowhunters shoot in close range, usually within 15 to 20 yards of their prey.
It's also cost-effective. If you have to hunt them, it's not a bad option
because you have someone doing it for free. And I'd rather have somebody with a bow do it than with a gun.
Several U.S. states use bowhunting as a method to control wildlife population in city parks."

This is something that must not be supported.
Murder shouldn't be on the table to peacefully
prevent Wolves from entering Human settlements.

This must be stopped!

STOP EXECUTION OF WOLF HYBRIDS!

Got this on the wire. Please help if you can.
These poor creatures should NOT be euthanized
by the place that have them in their possession.

Please adopt these victims of abuse and possible
execution ASAP.

Alot of hybrids have been getting dropped at
these places and I have been seeing alerts appear
on various channels.

This needs to stop. If people can't take care
of them, they should own or breed them anyway.

And of course this is why pet adoption is better
than breeders as far as dogs and cats. Especially
since there are many puppy mills out there.

Help if you can folks.

Go here to help!
